Support for Business
One of IBP’s success drivers has been the calculated use of extensive research. The research forms the crux of the company’s client management system and the information gathered is used to:-
- Encourage employers to take stock of their workforce skills deficits by demonstrating the link between these deficits and business performance.
- Enable IBP to direct public funding so that those companies most in need of assistance, or those who do not currently invest in skills development, receive immediate attention.
- Ensure a targeted response to individual company needs identified during the research phase. Expensive ‘needle in a haystack’ marketing is avoided and therefore public funds are put to best use.
- IBP’s research tool has proved itself to be the most effective mechanism to draw out the impacts of a company not investing in its own workforce. Consequently, the research tool has allowed us to address and promote the benefits of engaging in workforce development. In addition, we use our knowledge of the business and the information gathered to tailor-make a training solution for the customer. Customers are also shown how training can be developed not to compete with the company’s day-to-day operational requirements, but can indeed improve the company’s ability to deliver more effectively.
Companies can seek assistance directly with IBP and will be given the same level of assistance as those companies selected from our ongoing research. All companies are given the same high level of support as we strive to understand the impact that their skills deficits have on their workplace. IBP also plays an important liaison role and will give training providers relevant information to create a tailor-made service.
IBP endeavors to train to industry standard and provide industrial placements to meet market needs. If a company has been unable to recruit skilled employees we will work with a variety of agencies, including Jobcentre Plus, to develop individuals who are unemployed or looking for a career change.
One of IBP’s unique features is its ability to effectively engage local businesses and show how training can effect their bottom-line. Raising awareness of the benefits of developing a workforce has been achieved through indirect and direct marketing and promotional activity targeted at local businesses.
