Support for Training Providers

To ensure training suppliers deliver a first class service to employers, IBP will continue to work hand-in-hand with them, encouraging them to build-on their capacity to deliver a service that is an enhancement of their mainstream offer. To help meet the needs of employers, suppliers are actively encouraged to tailor provision as much as possible and, where a group of employers are involved, IBP works to facilitate provision that meets the consensus need.

In addition, IBP applies its investigative expertise to reduce the costs of tailoring supply. This is achieved by IBP carrying out the majority of research with employers and then presenting the employers’ dilemmas to the training suppliers for incorporation into their training offers.

IBP regularly reviews existing courses on offer. Where there is a gap between supply and demand IBP plays a crucial role in liaising with training suppliers and employers to ensure that a course remains viable. Also, IBP prides itself on its ability to test new offers (detailing course content to employers) to see if the suggested provision meets employers’ needs.

Service Level Agreements are adhered to by IBP when purchasing provision on behalf of a funding agency to ensure that a high quality of service is delivered and IBP propositions respond completely to the needs of employers. Our agreements outline the training needs of the employer, expected mode of delivery, performance targets, monitoring procedures and service standards. Through our monitoring and evaluation procedures we are able to identify any issue that the employer may have. Critically, this information is then shared with the training provider and the provider is assisted to supply a remedy.

IBP will continue to strive to ensure that our interventions remain responsive in every instance.
